As the year 2020 came to a close, Australians continued to turn to virtual fitness applications to keep their workout routines intact. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at how the top five virtual fitness applications performed on the Android platform in Australia during the fourth quarter of 2020.

Fitbit saw its revenue peak in the last week of December at approximately $27K, with a notable spike in downloads reaching 22K in the third week of December. Weekly active users showed a steady decline throughout the quarter but rebounded from 128K in mid-December to 154K towards the year's end.

For Garmin Connect™, which did not generate revenue through the app, downloads increased to a high of 19K in the third week of December. The app's active users also saw an uptrend, climbing from 248K in mid-December to a high of 298K at the quarter's end.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike concluded the quarter with revenue reaching nearly $16K in the final week of December. Downloads for Strava peaked in mid-October at over 5K, while active users showed an increase from 84K in mid-December to 99K by the quarter's close.

AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run experienced its highest revenue in the last week of December, around $4K, with downloads peaking at 4.7K in the first week of the quarter. Weekly active users for AllTrails dipped in November but saw a mild increase from 18K in late November to approximately 22K by the end of December.

Lastly, Home Workout - No Equipment showed a modest revenue of $76 in both the first and last weeks of the quarter. The app's downloads reached their peak at 3.2K in the last week of December, and active users saw a gradual increase from 10.7K at the start of the quarter to 12.5K by the end.
